A Blog? Seriously?!?!

I’m not a Gen X’er. I’m not a millennial. Born in 1980, I’m stuck right in the middle, in no mans land (pardon my use of gender 🙄). I’ve used rotary phones and pay phones and I’ve even made collect calls. I also had pager… No I’m not a doctor. I’ve been on the internet since the early 90’s and I had a blog when blogs were cutting edge (“cutting edge” such a lame term (“lame” such a whack term” (“whack”…))).

I’ve never had a diary cuz I’m not a 12 year old girl and I’ve never consistently journaled either but my reading over the years has taught me how important and cathartic writing is. I actually love handwriting, calligraphy, graffiti, and the lost art of cursive (poor millennials). But over the years my typing has become pretty damn fast (necessary evil), so in order to mitigate my lack of patience I’m typing instead of physically writing with pen and ink.

So… What will this blog be about? Damned if I know. I don’t even know if anyone is going to read it. Don’t care for that matter. Enjoy

MIKEYS MUSINGS
Epictetus said “If you wish to improve, be content to appear clueless or stupid in extraneous matters—don’t wish to seem knowledgeable. And if some regard you as important, distrust yourself.”

Quite often the most accurate thing we can say is “I don’t know” and probably the most powerful thing we can say (at least to ourselves) is “I don’t care”. In this ridiculously hyperconnected world where most feel the need to be in the know about everything, imagine how much more time, energy, and brainpower we’d have if we learned to “just not care” about what doesn’t need to be cared about.
